Taiyler S. Mitchell is a Los Angeles-based reporter on the breaking news desk at HuffPost. She has covered various subjects, including elections, police brutality, high-profile lawsuits, social movements, the death penalty, hip hop, TV shows, and more. Notably, she has highlighted the stories of families who lost their homes to the 2025 fires in LA County, explained how an Oklahoma execution showed the disproportionate use of capital punishment on Black men, detailed the significance of the Stop Cop City movement, and discussed how a police brutality victim leaned on the use of restorative justice. Recently, three of her stories were nominated for the 2026 Writers Guild Awards in the digital news category.​​
